NIJIKA : EVENT is the outdoor event version of Sawako’s installation “Nijika” with special guests. “Nijika” created an ephemeral environment with physically modulated video projections, lights and sound. It is an installation as well as a nomadic salon, a performance stage, and a part of everyday life.

She released her 1st album “la la la” from tokyo based my love spekk label. (mondii !) if you don’t know about spekk, they have nice collection of tiny sound gems with the outstanding package. in usa and rest of the world, you can order spekk’s cds in 12k shop.

DVD compilation, “Colorfield Variations” is now available from L-ne. Including my audio/visual work, “flirting 07121602.” This is the first DVD appearance of my visual work.

Colorfield Variations is a collection of audio/visual works reinterpreting the Color Field movement by an international array of critically acclaimed sound and new media artists and assembled by curator and sound artist Richard Chartier.

After a long submission and deliberation process, the second volume of Summer Tour Remixes is now available, for completely free download, on the Anticipate site.

As with Summer Tour Remixes Volume 1, Volume 2 uses Sawako’s field recordings, from her Summer 2007 tour of Europe and Japan, as source material for new works which jump off from those origins into a number of divergent, but complementary directions. Volume 2 was an open call submission process, which elicited some excellent material, and subsequently made it difficult to narrow it down into this lean eight track compilation with versions from:

i got the news that the label/main distributer (Anticipate/KOMPAKT) has
no more stock of my 3rd album “Madoromi.”

hurry up to get the CD (it’s come with the special poster jacket !) like all of my previous releases, it will not be available as physical format soon.

i am surprised the fact that “madoromi” sold out quicker (9- months) than “hum”, especially now many people are mumbling how difficult to sell physical CD . . . !
